G Herbo – Nigga (Feat. Smoke Da D.O)

A lot of people have slept on Smoke Da D.O for the longest, however he recently did a collaborative show with G. Herbo on DJ Self. The duo took turns spitting some incredibly nasty bars for a good two minutes straight. Smoke hails from the same area of Chicago as Lil Herb and this radio show was the first they met (only a week ago.) “ A lot of opps feel a type of way cuz my last song” Smoke Da D.O raps referencing the controversy on his last track.

Smoke spits to the classic Biggie beat “Mo Money Mo Problems” and stays on beat throughout with a smooth flow that really engages the listener. Herbo then comes through on the same beat, after bigging up his homie Smoke DA D.O.

The freestyle the duo did with DJ Self, the freestyle starts around the 2:00 mark.

Herbo raps “It was just me and Bibby” referencing his start in the Chicago drill scene. Clearly now he wants to introduce this newcomer, Smoke DA D.O and bring him to the scene. Herbo incorporates a fast flow that goes over the beat well. He also raps “I’m a humble beast” referencing his debut studio album which is dropping on the 22nd of September. Overall this freestyle showed off both these lyricists ability to freely rhyme on every beat.

We know Herbo is known for killing these types of beats but we hadn’t seen much from Smoke DA D.O and this freestyle was one hell of a way to make an entrance. He really proved he can rap alongside Herbo and not look out of place.

Who the hell is Smoke DA D.O??

Smoke DA D.O is the newest member of No Limit and Herbo clearly believes in the kids potential. Smoke has a project coming which is titled “Hunger Games“. He has been busy recording and the snippets from this project are available online. Smoke has recently come home from jail and his work ethic has been excellent since then, he has been feeding the streets with new music. One of these songs is titled Flex and features production from the legendary drill scene producer, DJ Kenn.

About the track Niggas

One of the highlights from the “Hunger Games” project is the newly released track titled “Niggas”. For this track his recruits fellow label mate G Herbo. It’s a super aggressive track filled with high energy bars. Clearly Smoke is an artist that brings through an incredible intensity in all of his tracks. He has a unique aggressive flow that flows nicely over the wavey trap beat. “Still in the trap with my mans though”, Smoke raps which implies he hasn’t completely left his old life for the music scene just yet.

The repetitive use of the word Nigga shines in this track and the delivery of his lines is incredible. Herbo then comes through on the second verse with a calm yet fast flow. He carries on with the repetitive delivery of the word nigga. I aint tryna be one with brokeass niggas, I gotta get rich nigga he proudly raps.

Clearly Herbo’s motives haven’t changed one bit. “Yea your kid brother got hit nigga, shouldn’t have been claiming that shit nigga” he also raps referencing the death of an opp who was repping shit a little bit too much and suffered the consequences. Herbo’s verse is relatively short but he accomplishes what he set out to do nicely and that was to big up his newest artist Smoke Da D.O. They meshed incredibly well on this collaboration and the chemistry was obvious to see, we are looking forward to future collaborations and also to both of these artists upcoming projects.
